How TacticDex handles information

TacticDex is a general-audience competitive Pokémon reference and analysis tool available at tacticdex.com. This policy explains the information used by the site, its hosting, and advertising services.

Information handled by TacticDex

TacticDex does not require an account and does not operate a first-party analytics or advertising profile. Team selections, interface preferences, and similar tool state may be stored locally in your browser using local storage or session storage. That browser-local state remains on your device until you change it, clear site data, or your browser removes it.

The feedback link opens your own email application. If you choose to send a message, the address, message, and other information you include are handled through your email provider and received for the purpose of responding to your request.

Battle Lab simulations

When you submit a Battle Lab simulation, your selected team sets and simulation settings are sent to the Battle Lab backend. The backend stores submitted teams, results, and replay events to run simulations and let you reopen them. Public runs are normally retained for up to 72 hours; storage limits may remove older results sooner.

An anonymous access key stored in your browser controls access to your run history. The backend stores a hash of this key. Clearing browser storage removes your access to that history but does not immediately delete the stored results. The backend also uses a salted hash of your network address for request and battle limits. Team validation also sends sets to the backend for checking; saved custom-team lists remain in your browser.

Hosting and routine request data

Like other websites, TacticDex and its hosting provider necessarily receive routine request data when pages and files are delivered. This can include an IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser or device information, and security-related request details. This information may be used to deliver the site, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and investigate security incidents.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

TacticDex may display advertising supplied through Google AdSense. When AdSense code is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may place or read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, and similar identifiers as a result of ads being served on this site.

TacticDex is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age at which you can make privacy choices in your location, use the site with a parent or guardian.
